I know I supposedly can reserve online for a visit to Neuschwanstein castle using the Mehrtagesticket.
But if I go to their site they ask me for my credit card number.
If we have the Mehrtagesticket how can we schedule a visit?
Thanks!
The reservation site states:
"Type of credit card:
(as a guarantee for your reservation)
Credit Card number*:
Expiry date (MM/YY)*:
Message:_________________"*
So your credit card only guarantees the reservation fee of 1.80 euro per person, which I assume is not included with the Mehrtagesticket. You could add in the message block that you have a Mehrtagesticket.
Thanks! You should be right, will do that.
I wrote to the Hohenschwangau Ticket Center a few weeks ago with that question. This was there response:
"If you want to use a so called Mehrtagesticket you can reserve normally on our web-page [www.ticker-center-hohenschwangau.de] where you can find our document for booking tickets.
By picking up the tickets just let us know that you want to use the Mehrtagesticket so that we can change your tickets."
I haven't written back about the exact meaning of "change your tickets", but hpefully it means from a regularly price ticket to a Mehrtagesticket, and that they will cancel the credit card charge (except for the reservation).
I guess they will exonerate the cost of the ticket, that's the meaning.
Another related question:
the lines (or queues as some people calls them) to get the tickets, I mean for people having the online reservations, how long could them be?
The Hohenschwangau site says the ticket office closes at 5:30 pm during the summer. What is the latest tour time that you can reserve for Neuschwanstein? Thanks in advance.
Bewem, there are two sides to the ticket room in The left side is for those who want tickets that include Neuschwanstein. It has a serpentine line. My guess would be that there were around 30 people in the serpentine in 2009 when I was there. On the other side is a short hall to windows for tickets for just Hohenschwangau or for reserved tickets. There are several windows to buy/pick up those tickets. There were people at those windows and one person waiting.
I think the wait was less than 5 minutes to pick up reserved tickets. When I was there in Oct 2013, the Neuschwanstein wait tooked like it was an hour or more. I doubt that there were more than 10 people waiting in the other line.
Bradley, according to the website, it takes 40 minutes to walk up to Neuschwanstein. If they sell tickets right up to closing time at the kiosk (we don't know that for sure), then the last tours of Neuschwanstein would be at a little after 6 pm. BUT, they might stop the tours at 5:30 and just stop selling those ticket earlier.
Great!
Thanks for that information, thank you!
