Neuschwanstein BusTours

Two questions.

  1. Does anyone know if the Grayline bus tours have restrooms on the busses. I see the smaller Premium tour (tripple price) bus has them, but nothing is said about the regular bus tours having them.

  2. Once we arrive at Neuschwanstein is there any way up to the castle short of walking all the steps. I'm not sure my honey will be able to manage them. We are taking it much easier this trip, but I want to see Neuschwanstein if there is any possible way.

The train from Munich to Füssen has restrooms.

There are no steps on the way to Neuschwanstein. It's a steep paved road, closed to vehicles. The horse carriages take you almost to the castle, but it's still a walk from where the carriages turn around. My 71 yo mother walked up the road to Neuschwanstein.

If you take the bus, there is a steep trail down to the castle. I don't know if it has steps.

There are steps on the shortest route (behind Hotel Müller) to Hohenschwangau castle, but not if you take the long way around, the road (also closed) to the castle.

There are also a lot of steps in the castle.

I love that the teeny-tiny toilet cubicles on buses are referred to as "restrooms". What is it about the word toilet that makes some people so inhibited.

Do you know if the Grayline Bus' have these tiny little toilets in a tiny closet on their standard bus tours to Neuschwanstein? I know they have them on the more expensive small group tours that are triple the price.

"If you take the bus, there is a steep trail down to the castle. I don't know if it has steps." No steps, just a paved trail. I don't find it particularly steep.

Thanks everyone. I'm thriled to hear there was just a paved path if we take the bus, and we will. I called Grayline Munich today, all of their busses that go out of Munich have the tiny toilets on them.
