Neighborhoods for Octoberfest stay

Hi all: I clearly waited too long to book a place to stay for Octoberfest this year. I am happy to stay somewhere further out and take public transport in. Any ideas on where I should look (neighborhoods) that would offer some things to do nearby and be convenient to public transport. We will be there for 4 nights. I am looking at Airbnbs as well as hotels but am kind of overwhelmed. Thanks in advance!

Your priority would be to find something anywhere. Use Booking.com and the map function and get back to us with any questions about the locale. You might also want to look for nearby towns with rail transport to Munich. Augsburg is a candidate.

or use Google Maps and click on hotels, then enter your dates, to get a quick view of
prices in the map viewing area. Then as already mentioned, cross-reference that
with train/S or U Bahn stations.

It's not the most atmospheric neighborhood, but you can get a room at the Novotel
at Munich Airport for around $160 a night still.

There appears to be lots of availability around Munich, prices notwithstanding (you
don't note your price range, so I can't help with that).
