Trying to find researcher who can assist in finding data on my two time Great Grandfather - Henry Glindmeyer. Tried Ancestry.com International and no results.
Henry was born in 1825 in City of Osede, south of Osnabruck and had two brothers. However, US 1860 Census states they were from Baden, Germany. So they may have moved to Baden but not sure.
Hope someone can recommend a researcher. Had great success with your researcher recommendation for my husband in Sicily.
You probably mean Oesede, part of the town of Georgsmarienhütte.

They can tell you where the relevant registries are stored (different for protestant and catholic baptismal registers) and who could do the research.
If he lived in Baden, that is relevant only if he got married there.
BTW, it would be helpful to know his original christening name. "Henry" is probably an Americanized form. Maybe "Heinrich"?
If you know someone with access to Ancestry.Com, you might check and get a feel for what is out there. They show a Carl Heinrich Glindmeyer born about 20 minutes from Oesede in 1827. I have found in researching my own ancestors that names and dates are less firm than one would like.
