If you are winter friendly the ski season is just beginning. You don't have to ski. Austria has many fine hotels in the mountains that offer half board. Many have wellness with outdoor heated pools, wet and dry saunas etc. High season with high prices is set to begin. City wise I would say Vienna, Salzsburg and Innsbruck. And... Christmas markets in Bayern. Was in Regensburg last week. Still a favorite.

10 days and you want to see Berlin and perhaps more of Germany and then Austria.
Berlin is great and you should do at least 3 days there. Then head for Bavaria for Munich, perhaps Berchtesgaden/Salzburg, Austria, and Garmish/Fussen (take in the castles and Zugspitze. Do these places and you might have a little time to visit Vienna, which is great.

If you do it in the Winter, it will be cold, so bundle up with warm clothes, overcoat, hat, gloves and warm socks.
The Alpine region can get iffy if you drive and a heavy snow happens, so consider taking the train.

With just 10 days, you may want to just concentrate on Berlin and Vienna. Use those sites for some day trips plus sightseeing in those two cities. When are traveling?

Sounds like you are flying in to Berlin and out from Vienna? How do you plan to travel between the two: train or fly?

Why do I ask? Becase its a full day on the train traveling throug Germany, the Czech Republic and then to Austria. So it may be worth spending a night on two in Prague as it is "on your way". There is, I belive, a night train as an option as well.

And, IMO, you can find lots to do in both Berlin and Vienna to consume 10 days. I travel to Bavaria frequently and yes it's a great option to get to Munich and over to Salzburg when time allows. It's the travelers delima often discussed on this form--dive deep into a few cities or get an overview of many cities--you get to choose.
