Need advice: choice for Leipzig Hotel

We are going to be in Leipzig for 4 nights. We are early 60s (though, officially, I land in my mid-60s on my last day in Leipzig! hmmmm). Coming in by train from Berlin airport and leaving 4 days later on train to Nuremberg and a walk with our rolling suitcases to the train station is high on our priority list together with decent hotel and good beds and very walkable through Zentrum. (We are NY'ers and good to walk). Caught between Adina Apartment Hotel which seems to actually be in the Old Town and Motel One-Leipzig-Post - recommended to us by a much younger niece who likes the design and the rooftop terrace. Also: the Adina has a pool (though unsure if it's a decent swimmable pool - the Marriot has a pool also but, oddly, has less-good reviews) .Any thoughts by anyone who's been or has an even better recommendation no further than a 10 min. walk to train station?

Many thanks.

We stayed at the Motel One a few years ago , it precisely fits your needs . Easy walk to the Hauptbahnhof , and in the dead center of the city . Great art museum there with a fabulous selection of work by the artist and sculptor Max Klinger ( his statue of Beethoven from the 1902 Secession exhibition in Vienna , is alone worth a visit ) .

Adina is a convenient location. More importantly is perfect for a multiple- night stay. It is basically an apartment with kitchen, comfortable seating, modern bathroom, and a washing machine/ dryer combo. The former features allowed us to recover in comfort from jet lag, and provided easy access to public transport for sightseeing. The latter feature allowed us to travel onward with all clean clothes.
We like it so much that we will now use the Adina chain whenever possible. All the conveniences of an AirBnB, but with 24/7 desk staff and the amenities that come with a hotel. Great deals and moderate pricing as well.

Motel One is good if you don't spend much time in the hotel, don't ask for a lot of service and like modern design. For these reasons it comes with a lower price. No idea about the Adina, sorry.

I have stayed a couple of times in the Seaside Park Hotel. Excellent location, very good service and food, nice rooms. Shortest walking distance from the main railway station - just across the street.

You didn't give the year or month of your trip.

We stayed at the Marriott ten years ago, and it was fine. But it was July during a legendary European heatwave. Like every luxury hotel we stayed in on that trip, the air conditioning was never intended to produce the meat-locker temperatures demanded in the US, and it could not keep up. We had to sleep in our underwear and were very uncomfortable.
