Want to go to Neuschwanstein for a day trip from Rothenburg for 2 people. How do I find a person to do this in mid-April 2026?

Try the website ToursByLocals. I used them in Spain for a few tours and had really great private guides.

It's over 250 km and at least 2 1/2 hours each way by car. Paying for a car and driver, and having them wait while you see the castles and probably have lunch will likely set you back around €1000. Tickets into the castles would be extra, and you need to book in advance. Private guides are not allowed inside the castles. You are admitted as part of a timed entry group and must stay with the tour, led by one of the castle guides.
Most day tours will be out of Munich and would include transportation to and from there and tickets to the castles. I doubt you would find a tour company that would do that from Rothenberg odT.
