Hi,
I am taking my 18 year old son to Germany & Italy next May. Does this itinerary seem ok?
Thursday - Arrive @ 1:45p in Berlin
Fri/Sat - full days in Berlin
Sunday - Leave early with train to Braunschweig - arrive at 11:30am
Monday - Full day in Braunschweig
Tuesday - Drive to Rothenburg with stops along the way
Wednesday - spend the day in Rothenburg, then drive to Munich late (I plan on dropping the car off right away and use public transportation when we are there)
Thursday-Friday - Full days in Munich
Saturday - Early train to Venice (arriving around 1pm)
Sunday - Full day in Venice
Monday - Day in Venice, then late train to Rome (arrive 8pm)
Tuesday-Thursday - Full days in Rome
Friday - fly home
So it is:
3 nights in Berlin
2 nights in Braunschweig
1 night in Rothenburg
3 nights in Munich
2 nights in Venice
4 nights in Rome
My son did spend 2 1/2 weeks in Braunschweig & 3 days in Berlin this summer on a student exchange program. So, he wants to go back & visit his friends and he doesn't need to see everything in Berlin. He mainly wants to hit the musuems because they didn't do that on his tour (they just did the major landmarks).
Thanks for help on this! I have my airfare booked and want to get my places to stay booked (especially in Munich).
