Munich to Salzburg to Fussen to Lucerne

I would appreciate any help with transportation for eight people. Flying into Munich July 14, train to Salzburg for one night, train from Salzburg to Rossenheim to rent car, drive to Fussen and staying for two nights, then on to Lucerne. Best/cheapest way to do this itinerary? Where can I drop off car on way to Lucerne? Thank you so much!!

Are you renting one large van or two cars for 8 people? Often, large vans are only found in rental in big cities. You can probably turn the vehicle in at Bregenz if you pick it up in Germany and catch a train into Zurich.
