Munich to Paris by Train

Is there a direct night train from Munich to Paris? I've been searching for the City Night Line. If yes, do I need to reserve it now for mid June or should I wait until in Munich for 5 days?

The last CNL train pulled out of Paris in December. There is a direct TGV at 6:25 and a single connection ICE at 3:25.

The bad news: as Sam mentions, they're phasing out night trains on a lot of routes.
The good news: now you actually get some sleep, in your hotel bed, without flashing lights, lurches, and strangers in your bedroom.

With the advent of high speed trains, you can now go from Munich to Paris via Stuttgart and Strasbourg in just over 6 hours, so the night train has gone away. With advance purchase (up to 92 days) you can get direct or one change connections for as little as 39€/person.

Hi,

As correctly pointed out, there is no more direct night train line between Germany and Paris, Munich-Paris, Berlin Paris have been dropped. That's the bad news.

The good news is that within Germany a number of the night train CNL lines still operate: Munich-Berlin, Munich to Hamburg, Munich-Duisburg, Mannheim-Berlin, Offenburg-Berlin, plus you can still go from Berlin to Budapest, Berlin-Vienna by night train.

If you want to avoid riding the TGV to Paris, that can be done. Take the early Munich to Frankfurt ICE, catch the 13:01 ICE departure Frankfurt Hbf to Paris Est. You arrive at 16:50.
