Munich to Neuschwnstein/Linderhof/Hohenschwangau Castles

Planning a one day tour out of Munich to see the castles. Many tour companies. Would like some feedback on the best tour provider at the most reasonable price. Also better with a prepaid entry tickets as part of the tour or buy them when you get there. Too many choices. Help

While you can certainly travel to Füssen by train and make the Castle reservations yourself, I enjoyed taking a small group tour for that trip. On the trip down by train, the guide provided background on the history of the castle and the odd demise of Ludwig, and it was nice to be able to ask questions before actually getting to the castle. The guide takes care of tickets for the castle tour.

Tickets for the castle have a timed entry time, and only the "official" guides are allowed to show visitors around inside the castle. If possible, also try to visit Marienbrücke (Mary's bridge) for the awesome views of the castle that are featured in postcards and TV shows.

I used Radius Tours and would certainly recommend them. Their office is located in the Munich train station.

There are tour companies that will try to sell you a tour of Linderhof and Neuschwanstein in one day. Personally, I think they are too rushed. I spent almost an entire day at Linderhof.

Do the trip in two days with an overnight in Oberammergau. Go from Munich to Oberammergau the first day, check into your hotel, then go to Linderhof by bus. The next day, take the bus from Oberammergau to Hohenschwangau, tour both castles, and return from Füssen on the train to Munich.
