We are flying into Munich and then moving on to the towns listed. We meet up with Adventures by Disney in Prague and then on their tour. Looking for suggestions to travel between the towns. The trains have several connections and are quite longer than just driving. My question is driving difficult in Germany and is it possible to drop a car in Prague that we rented in Munich?r
Driving in Germany isn't really any different than driving in the US. It is helpful to become familiar with the road signs ahead of time.
Renting a car in one county and then dropping off in another does cost significantly more. If you do decide to rent a car, drop it in a German city before going to Prague.
Heidelberg (that's where I assume you mean) and Rothenburg ob der Tauber are west of Munich, Prague is due east.
To avoid doubling back, I suggest you fly into Frankfurt am Main, and out of Prague, and travel Frankfurt --> Heidelberg --> Rothenburg odT --> Munich --> Prague.
Yes, you can rent a car in Germany and drop it off in Prague, but there will be a large surcharge for doing so. Better to drop the car on your arrival in Munich (assuming you do Heidelberg and Rothenburg odT first) as a car is a hindrance in a big city like Munich, and then train or bus to Prague.
