Munich to Florence

I’m traveling with my daughter in mid January. We are flying into Munich and making our way to Florence, IT for her college study abroad semester.

I wanted to do a 6 day trip with her and was looking for some advice and feedback from the community.

I was thinking 2 1/2 days in Munich (city tour 1 day & castle tour the 2nd), 2 1/2 days in the alps ( 1 skiing and 1 sightseeing and relaxing) and the last day in Italy.

Is that a good itinerary? Are there must do’s in Munich and the Alps?

I was looking at trains and there are many routes through the alps I’m getting confused and frustrated when trying to add a layer over and skiing. Some through Innsbruck, Salzberg, others through Zurich.

Additionally, while in the alps, I’d like to do a day of skiing where the scenery is awesome. Maybe a nice thermal spa too

Thanks in advance for your help on this.

The easiest way I can think of would be Munich-Innsbruck-Bolzano-Florence

Both Innsbruck and Bolzano should offer options for skiing that time of the year. Bolzano is already in Italy, but culturally close to Austria.

If you want more of a genuine Italian experience, I recommend either Florence itself or Verona, which is on the way…
