Munich-Paris

We are spending a few days in Berchtesgaden before we fly back to the US from Paris. I can purchase an EasyJet ticket to fly to Paris but wondering if traveling by train- night train?- might be best?

Hi,

The night train for Munich-Paris direct no longer exists...unfortunately.

There are still daytime trains from Munich to Paris but they take almost seven hours, which is long enough for a flight to be more convenient.

On most days you can leave Munich at roughly 16:30 and arrive 6 hours later at around 22:30 in Paris. There's also a 14:30 train that gets to Paris at 21:00. If you plan to sleep at the CDG, then fly. But flying probably won't save you any time at all if you plan to sleep in Paris itself.

Hi,

It's basically a time matter or a matter of preference. If just getting there is paramount, then I suggest flying. If you prefer taking the train and are willing to spend most of the day en route, ie you arrive in Paris at 16:50, take the train. Take early ICE Munich to Frankfurt direct. Take the ICE Frankfurt to Paris dep 1300, arr at 1650. I've done this route, both legs on the ICE, changing once in Frankfurt, reserve one hour for lunch,
