Munich opera

I'm glad you posted this, I just bought tickets for a performance this coming Autumn .

The Munich Opera house is between the Maximillianplatz and the Residence, very east to visit. They do offer tours, but I'd suggest taking in a performance if possible. They do have other offerings besides opera.

I'm visiting Munich soon and in other cities I've loved the tours of the opera house

Hopefully, "soon" is not in August. The Bavarian State Opera will conclude the current saison on July 31 with the last performance of the Meistersinger (to my delight got tickets for it) and will be closed all of August. Tours will resume only on Sept 21.

Very glad you said that regarding the fact that they do not do tours in August.
I am hoping the Vienna Opera house does not close its tours, as well, for August.

im sorry to hear that the tours are closed in august as thats when im going to be there!

It's my understanding that the Vienna State Opera offers tours throughout August and there's only a break of a few days at the end of August / begin of September. Enjoy, you will like it!
