Can anyone suggest a small, family run place to stay in Munich? There will be two couples. Conveniently located to most things. Is there easy access to train? We will be making day trips on the train to a few Bavarian towns. (We are also checking places on line.)

I highly recommend Hotel Uhland. It is easy walking distance to the main train station as well as S-Bahn stations, not far from Marienplatz, and in a fairly quiet area. We travelled with my sister and her husband, and we all found it charming, very good breakfast (included) and the young woman at the desk was very helpful in providing information.

Pension Lindner, just off the newly-pedestrianized portion of Sendlingerstraße. 5-minute walk to S-Bahn/U-Bahn at Marienplatz or U-Bahn at Sendlinger Tor. Just across the street is the Munich City Museum.
