Munich line 27 closed from Sendliger Tor station to museums

Just left Munich today but if you want to go to the museums from the central area, you need to take the U2 instead; line 27 is under construction until September.

Line 27 is a streetcar (tram) line.

It looks like the construction is only between Sendlinger Tor and Stachus (Karlsplatz). Tram 27 still runs between Stachus and the Pinakotheken. From Sendlinger Tor it's a 9 minute walks to Stachus. Alternately, take the U3 or U6 from Sendlinger Tor to Odeonsplatz, but it's a 13 minute walk from there to the Pinokotheken. It looks like you could also take U2 or U8 to Theresienstraße, but MVV does not recommend that route. Looks like they recommend the shortest overall time, independent of the walking time.

Update: MVV does allow you to pick a route with the least walking. Pick "Advance options" on the Journey planner, then "Routing options" on the pulldown and check "Least walking". Then MVV recommends U3/6 to Odeonsplatz and the 100 bus from there.
