Hello, I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations for a 2 night 2 day stay in Munich in March before heading to Austria to ski. I'd love to stay longer in Munich but the ski loving husband has claimed the bulk of this trip!

How about an evening at the Bavarian State Opera?
Visit the Nymphenburg Palace.
I guess if you don't go to the Hofbrauhaus, your friends won't believe you were actually in Munich.

There are excellent museums, Alte Pinoteka, Neue Pinoteka, Lenbachhaus, and the Residenz as well as the palace as already mentioned. The BMW museum too.

I tend to prefer the Hacker-Pschorr pub at the Victuallenmarkt to the Hofbrauhaus - but you will have two evenings to explore. The RS guidebook has lots of good tips for Munich.

You don't mention where you are going in Austria, but a day trip to Innsbruck is quite possible from any of the areas along the Inn river valley from Kitzbuhel to St Anton.
