Any suggestions how we should spend Dec 25 and 26? There are 6 traveling- age 17-60. Any input would be great- (What not to miss,
any additional cities, where to stay, etc.) Thanks

Salzburg is an easy day trip from Munich and is featured in Rick's Christmas program. The tourist office web sites for each city (such as Munich) will be one source for special event listings, as the holidays get closer. If you're interested in art venues like the Vienna State Opera, they have tickets on sale now.
Once you've booked hotels, you could also lock in train tickets with advance-purchase discounts for the three longer routes through the German DB site or the similar Austrian railway site. Tickets tend to go on sale 2 - 3 months in advance of the travel date, but sometimes a little later for the holidays, since the biggest schedule adjustment for the year is implemented on Dec. 15.
