Munich day ski bus recommendation?

Any recommendations for day ski bus destinations (ride and lift ticket) from Munich in February? I ski intermediate and am looking for views and the ski hut experience as much as the skiing. Thanks.

This bus service out of Munich looks like it fits the bill with daily departures to various Austrian resorts. I'd pick the Hochzillertal, but they're all pretty good destinations.

Garmisch offer two day passes "Garmisch Classic" and "Zugspitze", which include train to Garmisch, cog rail and / or cable car up to the Zugspitze OR bus to the Garmisch Classic ski area and a day ski pass (€54 / €60).

If the Skibus Munchen rates include a lift ticket as well as the transportation it is a very cost effective deal. The Pfand they mention is the deposit on the RFID ski pass card.

The Hochzillertal Ski Area is in Kaltenbach Stumm im Zillertal. If you want to cobble together your own trip you can book a train from Munich to Kaltenbach and return for about 40 euros. (Munich to Jenbach, then change to the cute if rickety Zillertalbahn to Kaltenbach; about 2 hours each way; no Munich traffic).

Check out the Zillertal website for lots of other information.

If you get to Hochzillertal take the chance to go over the top of the ridge to the Hochfugen area on the west side which is even better. There are several excellent Hutte on the ridge for refreshments, including ones at the top of the gondola so no further skiing will be needed after your Zillertal Pils.

So I took the ski train to Zugpiste one day and the ski bus to Hoch Zitteral another day. Both get you there in two hours or so. I liked the bus because people talked to each other and they served coffee and a pretzel on the way up, and sold beer on the way back.

Hoch Zitteral also seemed larger with wide bowls and long intermediate runs. Zugpiste also charged 37 euros for skis, poles and boots for a day, 15 euros more than HZ charged.

Glad you enjoyed. Hochzillertal for those of you who insist on correct spelling. Zugspitze must have had good Bavarian Voelkl's for rent, not those cheap Austrian skis. :-)
