Munich Christmas Market Cancelled. Edit: All Markets in Bavaria & Saxony Canceled

The decision was made a just couple of hours ago. Most of the markets are canceled. Some of the smaller, private ones may still happen, but keep informed if you were planning on visiting here because of the markets.

More markets are listed here, most of which are happening, but a few are canceled. Regensburg, Nurenburg, Bamberg, are all happening.

We're supposed to be leaving for Germany Sunday. While we aren't going to Bavaria, I'm wondering if other states will be imposing lockdowns as well - I don't know what to do.

Things are moving very quickly, although the situations in different states will be quite variable depending on local conditions and the state leadership. In general, one should expect a combination of many new regulations, and continued changes.

It is likely, for example, that in Baden-Württemberg, we will soon have 2G+ for most public activities/spaces (museums, stores other than groceries and apotheks, etc), which means that you will need to show proof of both immunisation/recovery AND a same-day negative test. This depends on hospitalisation rates, so no one can say for sure, but the trend looks to be such. And, more drastic measures are not off the table. So. Yeah, I don't know where this leaves you, but many states seem to be moving consequently right now, and until the situation in the hospitals stabilises, I think we should expect more restrictions.

We may be looking at pivoting a bit and flying from Frankfurt to Lisbon and spending our two weeks in Portugal. We have the EU Digital Covid Certificates, so we wouldn't need to test before flying - just filling out the PLF for Portugal.

Schloss Thurn und Taxis in Regensburg is now closed. They had been planning on staying open despite the State order but we just got email notification that a court injunction forced them to close. We were planning to attend and had pre purchased tickets (before recently postponing our entire trip to 2022). I thought I would just lose out on the ticket money but the email said our ticket would be honored for next year!! They also said something about trying to overturn the court injunction or waiting until Dec. 16th to open when the current injunction runs out, but that sounds like nothing I would want to plan around.
