How the weather, events and room rates in late April and early May? Whats the best to travel from Munich to Prague on the cheap?

The last week in April and first in May is Fruehlingsfest ("spring festival"), the spring equivalent of Oktoberfest, which is less well-known outside Germany but just as popular with locals. Expect hotel prices to be raised.

And May is FULL of holidays, which may mean closures of museums and other tourist sights (plus more local people traveling.)
