Munich apartment/aparthotel

We're just in Munich for three nights in June, but as we prefer a kitchen, I could use some help please! Recommendations for either an AirBnb or an aparthotel? Thanks all.

I recommend to look for official aparthotel.

Reason: Munich's illegal apartment providers on AirBnB get succesfully hunted and court sentenced by administrations now. It is illegal to use residential apartments wihout explicite allowance and registration for renting to tourists. Therefore some apartments disappear between booking and arriving. AirBnB is aware of the illegal behaviour and not supporting administration in clearing things - therefore active non-compliant behaviour.

Protect yourself and book a hotel. In Meininger Hotels you will always find a shared guest kitchen.

The Maximilian hotel has studios and suites with kitchenettes. It’s convenient to attractions and restaurants, etc. A very nice place.

Derag has three extended stay hotel locations in Munich. We stayed in the Deutsches Museum Location before and found it work well for us.

MarkK, forgive my ignorance...new to the site and trying to plan my trip for September, so I’m glad you brought up the illegal AirBnBs. I had no idea and I was planning on using mostly AirBnB. How do you know if they’re legitimate or not? Do you recommend using only hotels?

I’ll be by myself for roughly half my trip, but meeting up with friends for the other half and we’ll all want space, so we didn’t really want to have a “normal” hotel room. Is an Aparthotel a better option than AirBnB?
