Greetings, my adult son and I are flying on the behemoth A380 double decker plane from Denver to Munich in September. Puzzled as to the best/cheapest way to get from the Munich airport to Andaz Schwabinger Tor hotel on Leopoldstabe 17 in Munich? Any help is appreciated, as I know we will be frazzled after an overnight flight.
According to Google Maps, if you don't want to get an Uber or taxi, there is a Lufthansa Express Bus (12 Euros/person) that would get you most of the way there, with about a half mile walk at the end to get to your hotel.
Th DB site provides the connections you will need to get there by public transport. Just set Schwabinger Tor, München as your destination (which is a stop right next to your hotel) and use MUC München Airport as your starting point. Type "Mue" for "Mü" in München, or paste the bold type above. Most journeys use the train into Munich and then some combination of bus, tram or subway.
I would suggest to load Munich's free public transport App on your smartphone - 'MVgo'(english version).
The MVgo App shows various options, but all of them require multiple transfers. If that's too much for you with luggage, you can also take the S-Bahn (S1 or S8 suburban trains) from the airport to the main train station (Hauptbahnhof), and then take a taxi from there.
Of course I only know the Andaz Hotel as a visitor but I think it is a great hotel. Have fun.
