Munich Airport to hotel transfer

Sending kid to Munich alone after transatlantic flight. Kid does not want to take the train into town to meet the rest of her group as she knows she will suffer from sleep deprivation at that point. Can anyone recommended a dependable car service? Thanks.

She really would do better on the train. The ride just takes a few minutes.

I realize that the train would be easy but I've always taken a taxi because of jet lag. (I do not sleep on the 10-hour flight at all.) Sorry I can't remember how much it cost but even though expensive, I felt it was worth it. Keep in mind though that it's been years since I landed at Munich Airport.

We took taxi from our hotel located in the Marienplatz area to airport and the cost was about $35.

Not exactly. It's approx. €70 from MUC to Marienplatz or any other point in the inner city. A single MVV day ticket, which is valid all day in all Munich and for all means of transport (S-Bahn, U-Bahn, tram, bus) is €13.

The ride just takes a few minutes.

The fastest trip takes 38 min.

I know there are excellent alternatives to using a car service. I just need a car service recommendation - one that somebody has used and was happy enough with that they would recommend it to somebody else. Anyone?

I've used Blacklane in Berlin (multiple times), Stuttgart, London, Oslo, and Seoul (though not in Munich because the train was very convenient from the airport). Service and support have been excellent with all trips. The driver meets me at the exit from baggage claim with a sign/tablet with my name on it, grabs my bag, takes me to the car, and drives me to my destination. Tip is included in the fee, so no need for tipping. On a couple of "dummy" bookings, cost is 95 euro from Munich to Marienplatz (the example above). Certainly not a cheap service, but an easy way for a traveler to get to where she wants to go and requires minimal thought from her sleep-deprived brain. It looks like you can use the "SAVE10%" discount code to get 10% off your first booking.

This quote ($80) is for a pickup service (they monitor your plane's arrival and meet you with a sign with your name) and take you to Marienplatz, not just a taxi that you find at the airport.

There is also the Lufthansa bus from the airport to the Munich Hbf. The price is around the same as for the S-Bahn, but it only goes to the Hbf and your daughter would have to transfer at the Hbf to the S-Bahn to Marienplatz.

If she gets a day ticket and uses the S-Bahn to Marienplatz, the ticket will cover any other transport in Munich for the rest of the day.

I just wanted to add that you might want to contact the hotel and see if they can recommend a car service.
