Would appreciate help figuring out which train to take from Munich Airport to Ammerseehauser in Diessen. Arriving 21 Oct in morning Thanks!

That hotel appears to be in Diessen-Riederau, so your destination is the train station Riederau (not Diessen). Look up connections at www.bahn.com. Most of them will imply two transfers, one in Munich Hbf and another one in Geltendorf or Weilheim. Since Oct 21 is a Sunday, you can ride on a Bayern Ticket any time (€ 31/2). Buy from a vending machine at the airport center or at the DB counter (€ 2 service charge).

It looks like the train to Geltendorf leaves from the Starnberger "Wing bahnhof" (tracks 27-36) on the north side of the Hbf. You can get to those tracks directly from the underground S-Bahn station. From the level above the tracks, look for the signs for "27-36" followed by a green circle with a white S.
You didn't say how many of you there are. If you are alone, the flexifare for one person is 22,80€, a little less than the 25,-€ for a one person Bayern-Ticket.

There is one simpler alternative that takes about the same amount of time but is more expensive. Take the S8 from the Airport to Herrsching (no changes) and take a taxi around the lake. I'd expect to pay 30€ or so for this taxi ride so this might be a deal breaker for you but it does simplify the train travel if that is something that stresses you out upon landing.
Too bad the boats are not running across the lake at this time otherwise I would definitely recommend starting your holiday with a nice boat ride from Herrsching!
