My wife and I (50s) are traveling to Germany the first two weeks of September and are looking for advice about handling our luggage on our departure day for the return flight from MUC. The purpose of this trip is to source wares for our antique and vintage business so we’ll each have a hard-shell large suitcase, a hard-shell carryon, a tote on wheels, and our backpacks. Normally we can manage all this, but I’m still recovering from back surgery. We have flown in and out of the Munich airport several times, and we have stayed at the Munich airport Hilton one time. It is a very large hotel with football field-long hallways. The hotel does not have carts or trolleys that you can take out of the hotel. Does anyone know if you can take/rent an airport luggage trolley, bring it into the Hilton, and then take the loaded trolley back into the airport to the American Airlines check-in counter? Honestly, anyone who has any good ideas about how to easily manage our luggage upon arriving at the Munich airport train station, getting it to the hotel, and then getting it back out of the hotel for our flight please let us know. Ideally, it would be amazing if we could pick up a luggage trolley in the airport, tote our baggage into the hotel, Check in, Spend the night, And then use that same trolley which we would have kept in our hotel room overnight, to bring our luggage back into the airport. Looking forward to your advice!

Yes, you can rent trolleys....
It appears that these are the standard trolleys you get at baggage claim, so you'll have
to decide if they are large enough for the two of you to move everything.
I believe LH allows luggage check-in the night before at Munich Airport, but AA (I assume
you are taking the nonstop to Charlotte) most likely does not.
If I remember correctly, leaving the Munich Airport Center after exiting the train, you have to
get up an escalator or elevator. You may be able to find a trolley or two on the platform,
otherwise you'll have to lug it upstairs and find trolleys inside the Airport Center.
If you don't go up the outdoor stairs, you enter the Hilton at the level of the plaza on a
lower floor, so you will need to get everything into an elevator and go up to check-in, then
repeat the process if you want to take everything to the room. I'd think about settling for
having the hotel keep your bags in their luggage room.
The morning checkin process will be a bit more lengthy since you have to go back to
Terminal 1.
Final thought - why not ship the wares you purchase?

The porter service „Free Service Men's Association Gbr“ or Freie Dienstmännervereinigung Gbr (auf Deutsch) looks interesting. I wonder if they can come to the hotel, though. Has anyone used the free porter service at Munich Airport?
BTW: we will be shipping some of our items. And we have explored many different shipping options, including sending boxes through Deutsche Post, DHL or even using a luggage shipping service. Many of these methods are prohibitively expensive.

BTW, Shoeflyer was able to assume that Dan was flying AA because Dan said he is from Charlotte.
I few weeks ago, I posted recommending that people put where they are from in the profile, or at least in their OP, and I got jumped all over for it. Here's an example that any additional information that you can provide can help other people to help you.

Dear All:
I am indeed from Charlotte. And something like 90% of all flights from Charlotte are on American Airlines.It’s an AA hub, and AA runs things at near monopoly level here.
