I'm planning a trip for December 2027. Flying into Dresden for 2 nights, then Nuremberg for 2 nights, Munich for 2 nights, figuring out how to get to Chur, Switzerland to catch the Bernina Express to Italy and then to Lake Como and then Milan to fly home. I know it can be done, but not sure about train transportation between everything and if I should buy a pass thru Eurail or ?? I can find places to stay and things I want to do - just need help with connecting between all of the cities and what is the best bet for train travel - which I prefer. Thanks!

Hi, mcoelho5284, I would start off with Deutsche Bahn, which is the national German train company, and you can start checking tickets at this link: https://int.bahn.de/en
That said, it would help to know the exact dates that you are starting off at. Deutsche Bahn hasn't released tickets from mid-December on, so if it's at the beginning of the month, you can check the prices, but otherwise you'll have to wait till probably Mid-October. It's worth waiting, because the prices will be lower then.
If you can give me a date for each city, I can run some dummy bookings and help you out with this.

OP, if you are actually traveling in Dec 2027 and not 2026, you are far far ahead of
train schedules being released and potential routings being finalized. Any info from
others is great but subject to change and you'll need to recheck as dates get closer.

Yes, OP, you are way, way ahead of time for buying train tickets. The link I gave you is a good place where you can check to see approximately how much things will cost, and you can do that throughout this next year until they're released. Generally, they're released 2 to 3 months ahead of time, but it depends.
In the meantime, I would suggest that you visit the Man in Seat 61, which is excellent advice for buying tickets for and taking trains in Europe.
