What is the most Scenic route with a Car from Munich to Rotenburg ob er Tauber?
I like to stay off the highways myself but this will be a long drive between the two locations. I cannot give you an exact route but I'd Google Map to Harburg, Nordlingen and Dinkelsbuhl, stop off in one of those places (all different in size), eliminatiing highways in your search. It will be pleasant enough driving, nothing stunning.
Long version:
Munich -- Landsberg am Lech (detour of approx 1 hour west) -- Augsburg - then (Nördlingen OR Dillingen -- Neresheim -- Ellwangen) -- Dinkelsbühl -- Feuchtwangen -- Schillingsfürst -- Rothenburg
Many small detours possible, e.g. Kaisheim (N of Donauwörth), Harburg (between Donauwörth and Nördlingen), Öttingen (N of of Nördlingen). Since Nördlingen and Dinkelsbühl are quite similiar I'd prefer the Dillingen -Neresheim - Ellwangen alternative.
Short version:
Munich -- Augsburg -- Nördlingen -- Dinkelsbühl -- Rothenburg
The road of the short version is boring as far as Donauwörth then it turns into rolling farmland. The scenery of the long version is not spectacular either but is nicer beyond Augsburg.
Thank You!
