Hi, My husband and I will be training from Cochem or Bullay to Luxembourg. Is it worth the stop in Luxembourg and if so, what do we see and do? Thank You!
I have been through Luxembourg a couple of times and never found it a place I wanted to stay overnight. Just stopping for lunch was sufficient for me.
Spent one day there as part of a tour and didn't find much that was unique. Lots of very expensive shops, the outside of one palace and kind of a cool statue.
the casemates are pretty unique. So is the palace. And the valleys. And Vianden Castle. And the Battle of the Bulge museum in Diekirch. And General George Patton's grave.
It is all if it is is "worth it" to you.
Vianden is worth a visit, but it is on the border with Germany and miles from Lux city.
General George Patton is buried in Luxembourg.
Thank You for your responses. We will probably fit in a day trip on our way to Belgium. Maybe cycle the 3 country path; Germany, France, and Lux. Not sure if we can afford to spend the night.
