I’d really appreciate your comments on what to do in Mittenwald in a cold weather and itinerary recommendations.I will be there these days where I had planned before, but the weather seems very cold and rainy 4-5 C degrees. As it will be rainy, I think I will not have opportunity to hike to Lautersee or the other green areas..
I’ll be arriving from Istanbul and will depart from Munich. 1st day in Mittenwald- 2nd or 3nd day I plan to go to Innsbruck . What about the other 2 days ? Oberammergau,Walgau ...or what else I am not aware of ? I am without car and will use train-bus. I will spend around 4–5 days in the region. I’m especially interested in peaceful, scenic places that are easy to reach by public transport.
I previously stayed in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Mittenwald in 2019 and especially enjoyed Mittenwald. I already know the town quite well — the old town itself, Lautersee (within walking distance), and I also visited Seefeld, Partnach Gorge, and Neuschwanstein Castle near Füssen.
I’m very open to your recommendations. What else would you suggest in this area and what to do in cold?
