Mittenwald hotel for less than 3-day min requirement

I am hitting a brick wall trying to book a 2-day stay in Mittenwald for the specific mid-week dates we'll be driving through there in June. (We are a family of 4 driving between other booked destinations that I don't want to mess with.) We plan to stay in Mittenwald the nights of Weds 6/12 & Thurs 6/ 13. I have now tried over 20 local Hotels, Gasthäuser & Pensions and found all to be either booked for those dates (though oddly sometimes not for the weekends around them) or require booking an extended stay, usually a minimum of 3, or as many as 7, days. Has anyone else ever run into this situation? I don't want to have to book 3 days just to stay for 2, but I'm beginning to think that's the only answer. Again, the travel we've booked on either side can't change.
Update: I was able to find a nice-looking pension in Mittenwald for 2 nights. I'll update with how it was once we return.

Not sure what parameters you are searching with, what booking sites you are trying, what your room/bed needs might be or what ages your family members might be.

So I searched at booking.com for a party of 4 adults and found these 6 options for your specific dates:

Ferienwohnungen Karwendelbahn

ALPENFREUND

Mittenwald-Ferien

Ferienwohnungen Jana

Hotel-Garni Drachenburg

Alpenhotel Rieger

Russ, Thank you. At this point I've lost track myself. We're looking for 2 double rooms for me, my husband, our adult daughter, and my 84-year-old mom. I would rather it not be a rental/Ferienwohnung. I'll go back and give some of these another look. I appreciate your response.

Should anyone else find themselves in this predicament, I finally had luck finding a pension for my dates on the website alpenwelt-karwendel.de.

Gundersen (not sure how you reply directly to people on here), Thank you! I'll take that as a compliment. And if our accommodation turns out to be nice I'll update with that info on our return.

If you haven’t already I’d also encourage you to email with your request. I ran into the same issue using the booking sites but was accommodated with an email request.

Happy Travels!

michellearney Good to know. I usually book directly on the host's website if they have one. Usually they have a form that I use, but maybe email would be better. Time after time I found that a 3 to 7 day minimum stay was required to actually book. I found only a handful that would book a two-day. I filled out the host's form for one that looked really nice, then received an email back that they had a family party at that time (Weds & Thurs?) and couldn't accommodate check in and check out. Disappointing, but fingers crossed that the one I found will be good. I appreciate your feedback!

Jennifer- you could easily stay in GAP for those 2 nights and daytrip to Mittenwald via train or car.

Stayed here once for one overnight in early Spring several years ago. An Expat from Scotland. From the pics it looks like the rooms have been renovated. A nice quiet corner in Mittenwald near the Lainbach-Wasserfall and up to the lakes. Pension Karner.

mchpp - Thank you! As a matter of fact, this is the pension I booked a few days ago. Glad to hear you had a good experience! It looks perfect, even had a ground floor room for my 84yo mom and my daughter to share. I'll be sure to update with our experience once we're back. Much appreciation!

Kenneth - Booking somewhere nearby was my plan B if I couldn't find something in Mittenwald. I was just concerned these extended stay minimums were something I'd find farther afield as well. Fortunately had some luck with a booking. Thank you!
