Missing first leg of the connection

Hi all, I am booking a ticket with a stopover on DB for about 15 hours.

I understand if I miss the first leg of the journey, I would have to repurchase the ticket.

I was just wondering if the second leg of my ticket still valid. If I can make it up to the train, would my ticket be valid despite the missed train in the first leg?

Look at your ticket to see which validity date is entered there (first line: "Gütigkeit ... Uhr"). If the second leg is within the validity date, it does not matter whether you traveled the first leg or not. Nobody could prove that you did not travel it anyway.

Trains aren't like planes. As long as the ticket for the second leg is valid, you can use it.
