Meeting incoming Passengers at Frankfurt Airport

We are coming to Frankfurt a few days before our tour starts. We will need to come back to the airport to meet our tour group.
We will have our luggage with us. How will be the best way to meet our group at the arrival terminal?
Thanks for all replies

There are designated signed "meeting points at the airport. Perhaps pre arrange with your tour leader to meet at the one in the terminal they will arrive at. You can find them on the Frankfurt airport Map online.

busman72345, like Jazz+Travels, I hope you're able to travel this year!

I understand your frustration as I had a terrible experience meeting a group in the Geneva airport a few years ago - and it's much smaller than the Frankfurt airport. Having flown into Geneva a few times, I "thought" I knew where the meeting point was... but there are actually multiple, designated meeting points. I was not alone as our group of eight took about two hours to finally "meet" the contact. Unfortunately, our guide's phone died so we were all calling/texting each other, the company's home office, everybody but him!

As mentioned above, the company should give you a meeting point. If you don't fully understand where it's at, ask them for a map with the location designated on that map - or if they have photos of the meeting point (some do). If you're not told, ask what the meeting person will be wearing or what will be the message on the Meet & Greet boards they might be carrying. At a minimum, if you're unfamiliar with the airport, I'd print out the Arrival Area map(s) and carry with you.

Definitely get contact #'s for the persons you'll be meeting (and names, if possible) and ask, "Who do I call if I cannot connect with them?" If YOU do have a mobile phone, make sure it's fully charged. If you do not have a phone, still get the contact numbers as you can go to an INFO booth and ask them to call for you. And since you're traveling from Frankfurt out to the airport, be early. Less stressful to find your meeting spot and then enjoy a relaxing espresso.

In retrospect, my Geneva situation was almost comedic as six of us met each other BEFORE we met our contact. But it was very frustrating at the time.

Be clear as to exactly where you are meeting. Many airports have online plans, so look where the meeting point is before you travel. Have the phone number of the group leader stored in your mobile phone.

Allow plenty of time to get there. Work out in advance your travel options to get there.

It really depends on the tour company but you should be told by them where to meet the tour director. It could be at the airport, it could be at the first night's hotel. Contact them as you get close and know the tour is happening.

Unless you are leading the tour and get to decide where to meet.....let the tour company tell you. The other tour members will have that information. Not what someone on the message board tells you to do.

The word for meeting point is "Treffpunkt" which is on the maps and signage.

I meet people all the time at the Meeting Point in either Terminal 1, or in Terminal 2. There is only one meeting point in each terminal and the signs pointing the way are in English. Plenty of places to sit, WC are near-by, as well as places to grab a snack.

If people are flying with carry-on only, they will not emerge at the same gate as those picking up luggage. Thus, the meeting point is a better spot than the arrival gate.
