Where is best place centrally located to mail packages home? We are near Marienplatz. We will need a box. I have seen something about DHL from post offices, but where are they?

If you're still in Munich near Marienplatz and haven't solved your problem, you could try the following: go to Hugendubel Buchhandlung (bookstore) located at Marienplatz, across from Rathaus and near the Viktualienmarket corner. Somebody in there at customer service or a register will speak English and can direct you to a post office or DHL place. I bet you could even get a box from them. They also have a small English language books area. Unfortunately, they have lost their lease and will move out next spring.

There is a bundepost on the corner of Schützenstrasse and Schillerstrasse.

That post office near the Hbf. is in the Bahnhofsvorplatz area. There are also stamp machines in front of the entrance.
