luggage storage in Fussen

I have read varying accounts about the ability to store luggage in Fussen while I go to Hohenschwangau. In May I'll be coming directly from Stuttgart and then back to Munich that evening, meaning I'll have luggage in tow. Anyone have experience from late 2017 or even now in 2018? Older posts tell of "once upon a time" luggage storage service. Many thanks!

The old train station in Füssen used to have luggage storage lockers, but they tore that station down. While they were building the new one, there were no lockers, but now that the new one is open, there are once again lockers.

Here is the station layout of the Füssen Bahnhof. The lockers are inside the station were you see the suitcase in a square symbol.

The buses to the castles leave from bus stop (Haltestelle) 5 on the layout. It's in the parking lot on the other side of the station building from the tracks.

Just in case the lockers might all be full when you get there, at Hohenschwangau, the tourist information office is right at the bus stop. They have told me that one can leave their luggage behind the desk in the TI office, but I have never tried that.

There is no provision for storing luggage at the ticket kiosk in Hohenschwangau. It also says that there are checkrooms (Garderobe) at each of the castles, but I wouldn't want to carry my luggage up the long hill to Neuschwanstein.

There are 12 small and 18 large lockers on platform 2/3 and additional lockers inside the station building which are operated by a private company.
