RS Germany book says there are luggage lockers at train station in Wittenberg. Several other online posts say there are not any there. We hope for a few hour stop there between Berlin and Eisenach, but need a place for luggage. Are there any at train station and, if not, is there any place in town to leave luggage for a few hours?

Yes, there are lockers at Lutherstadt Wittenberg train station. When were those on-line posts dated?

Fred, It's the current bahnhof site that doesn't list them, but does list them at other stations. When did you last know the lockers to be there?

Was just in W'berg - great place and a good one to stay in as well, which I'd recommend. The Acron is walking distance from the train station and a good place to stay - nice breakfast as well - and it's an easy walk into the heart of town as well.

Thanks, Russ. No time to stay in Wittenberg on this trip. When you were there did you notice whether there were luggage lockers?

@ kathysize1....I was in Lutherstadt Wittenberg the end of April 2014, spent a few hours day trip there from Berlin. Follow the signs and walk into the center. The DB website showed lockers then.

We used them in June 2013. I remember being a little worried about whether we'd find any, but we did.

Thanks, everyone. I checked with a Berlin friend who was in Wittenberg recently. Train station was in midst of a do-over for the Reformation celebration in 2017, so no lockers at that time. But they may be part of the re-do. Staying tuned. I emailed the TI and got no reply.

I also emailed the Tourist Information office and got this response:
due to renovation there are no lockers at the main train station. You can leave your luggage at our office at Schlossplatz 2 during our opening times:
Monday-Friday: 9.00 am – 6.00 pm
Saturday/ Sunday: 10.00 am – 4.00 pm

Emailed TI and received a prompt reply:
Due to renovation works the main train station has no opportunity to store luggage right now. You can store your luggage in our Tourist-Information during opening times (Monday – Friday 9.00 am – 6.00 pm; Saturday, Sunday 10.00 am – 4.00 pm).
In same email, Lutherhaus is undergoing renovation until March 2017.
