We are flying into FRA Main airport on April 13 for a trip to Strasbourg, France. I originally considered private transport due to the luggage we will likely have, but now am looking at the Lufthansa express bus. Luggage limit says 1 checked back and one "Hand Carry" per person though. Does the hand carry include a purse or backpack, or does that just refer to a regular carry on like the airlines, with an extra allotment for a "personal item" like a purse or backpack? Can you pay extra for extra checked bag on the bus the way you can for airlines? Thank you for the help!
Quoting from the »Special Terms of Transport for Lufthansa Bus«
(http://www.lufthansa.com/de/en/Help-and-Contact)
»Each passenger may take one piece of baggage with them with a maximum weight of 23 kg
as well as one piece of hand luggage up to a maximum of 8 kg. The hand luggage must fit
into the luggage rack above the seats and may be a maximum size of 50 x 30 x 20 cm.
Personal documents, medication, valuables, mobile phones and laptops should be taken
with you into the passenger compartment. In addition to the piece of hand luggage, you
may bring with you an extra piece of luggage (max. size of 30 x 40 x 10 cm, e.g. a hand-
bag, a laptop case), one baby carrier per child travelling with you or a child’s car seat or a
foldable pushchair/buggy and wheelchairs/mobility aids«
Thank you very much! I did not see the note about extra luggage like a handbag on the Lufthansa website page I viewed. One other question - There are two hours and 10 minutes between our arrival time at Frankfurt and the next available Lufthansa bus. Enough time to make that transfer if we have an on-time arrival?
Normally I calculate 90 min from deplanning to the train station. So you should it make to the bus as well.
You can download a map of the airport and locate the bus station at Terminal 1, Concourse B West (just before the train stations) here:
