I have booked my flight to Germany back in December 2022. My flight is thru Lufthansa Eurowings Discover. Do I need to purchase WiFi and internet for our flights and would we need to bring headphones/earbuds?

You will need to check with the airline to see if WiFi is even available on your specific flight. If not, you can still use the in flight entertainment. Bring your own wired headphones to do this. If you have Netflix, Apple +, etc, you can download movies to your phone while you are at home. Then you can watch them in flight without needing data.

I have not flown Lufthansa but I do believe that you have to purchase wifi: https://www.lufthansa.com/us/en/flynet
With regards to headphones, the airline does provide them but I always bring my own as they are more comfortable. So you might want to consider that.
