Hi! I'm a 19 year old college student, who stupidly left valuables (by that I mean passport, license, credit/debit cards, etc) in a train station in Munich. I did the usual things, and made it "home" to Rome, where my school is. Here's the problem. On Sunday at about noon I went to the City Police station just outside the Hauptbahnhof (Central Train station). They told me that my bag had been found, and read off a list of all the things that were in it, so I could ID it as mine. It was turned in at a city lost and found, which was unfortunately closed all weekend. I had to leave the city or miss my flight, but I was assured that I could get the bag shipped to me. My parents, a German-speaking family friend who lives in Munich, and I have all called every lost and found in Munich, but none of them have anything like what I describe or associated with my name in any way. I'm trying to call the police station that told me to follow this course of action, but I can't find a phone number.
Can anyone advise me a) of how to get in touch with the Police without calling 110, which I believe is emergency, or b) of another course of action that might allow me to get my possessions back.
Thanks in advance!
Faith, I hope you get your baggage back.
Going 234, it is so good to know you are one of many good people on the forum who can help. Thank you for helping Faith.
Thanks Colette.

Just one more example of why your passport, credit cards, ID, etc belong in a money belt or other secure place.
