Looking for hotel recommendations in Regensburg

My favorite in the middle of the Altstadt is the Hotel Orphée. Make sure you are in the main hotel Großes or the annex Kleines a street over, and not across the Donau at the Andreasstadel.

I had a wonderful stay a few years ago at the Sorat, on an island in the Danube directly overlooking the old town. We had great river views from our windows and a scenic walk over the bridge into the city. I remember their breakfast as being extraordinary, even by German standards. When I went on their website to check the name of the hotel, I saw a notice of work on the bridge. Please clarify that situation before you make any reservations.

Probably good you are arriving by train. I will always remember their underground car park with skinny spaces and big concrete columns. Left a piece of shiny new black BMW on one of them.

We have stayed at the Hotel Goliath Am Dom and really liked it, so much that we are planning to stay a couple more nights in December. It is near the Cathedral and walking distance to the major sites. Lovely breakfast and very quiet rooms.

I always stay in Hotel am Peterstor. It's a no frills Hotel but has everything you need. It's situated in a quiet neighborhood just inside the walls but only a seven minutes walk from the station.
