looking for hotel and suggestions for morning things in Frankfurt for long lay over

Hi- we're going to land in FRA at 7:45pm for an overnight before our flight back to PHX 3:30 pm on Wed 24th May 2023

I'm thinking we'll have time for a late dinner or maybe just a snack then and a nice breakfast the next morning. Would like something German, local, fresh, no need to be fancy, just tasty for our last meal in Europe.

I'm also interested in hotel recs with easy access to/from the airport, where we can store our backpacks for the day with expected arrival at about 12:30 if 3 hours is enough for our flight back home on Thurs. I think we could be either close to airport, or close to where we want to eat/explore in the morning- but either way- close to transit

Also thinking an outdoor space for roaming around- pretty views, or just a nice place to explore would be nice before our flight home.

This is the final leg of our Amsterdam, Florence, Barcelona and Madrid trip- 5 nights each. Just found a good $ flight this way to get home so have a wee bit of time to do something enjoyable on that last morning.

TIA for any suggestions you may have

You're in luck, not much goes on in Frankfurt so if you can Google up some breakfast places in the Frankfurt Sachsenhausen district you'll be able to get a meal and sightsee the high point of Germany's financial capital - 2 birds with one stone, as they say.

Don't pay any attention to Periscope, Frankfurt has beautiful scenery, lovely neighborhoods, fun festivals, culture galore, dozens of parks as well as museums, a number of original, medieval churches and towers, and tasty food.
On that date in May, there may be a festival in town, where you could spend the evening, but it is too far away right now. Check back with me later in the year.

I would come into the city rather than be out at the airport, a walk along the river in the evening can be gorgeous as well as at sunrise if you want to get up that early. For breakfast, if your hotel is not doing it, perhaps one of the cafes in town? Cafe Karin near the Goethe Haus is pretty popular, or pop into the Klein Markt Halle, which opens at 08:00.

I just got a tip to stay in the Romer area- on the river in the old town and I think that's just what I'm looking for- and the bonus to be near water as we're returning to the desert.

any thoughts about that? for hotel, food, things to do- on the river would be great, but if not strolling along will be perfectly fine...

Does local transit come and go in this area to/from airport? This is the only place we're staying that I'm relying solely on social media- I have 40 books for the other places, just found this flight and have enough to keep me busy for the rest of the trip. This is actually I'd be interested in a historical tour or something on the water that gives both. Will do research on this part, but not going to read a book for this night stay. :)

I was going to suggest Motel One, but see that someone on TA already suggested it. The location here is perfect. If you have time the next morning, go see the Karmeliter Cloister which is right across the street from the hotel. This cloister has the largest religious wall paintings north of the Alps. Done in the early 1500s, they are a hidden gem of Frankfurt.
The S-8 and S-9 come directly from the airport to the Hauptwache, which puts you right in the center of Frankfurt and a 5 min. walk to Motel One, the Römer, and the Main.
