Lodging in Landshut, Germany?

Hoping to stay in Landshut, Germany for four nights early next September before RS Alpine trip. We have been to much of Bavaria before and want to use Landshut as a jumping off point to some other small towns north of Munchen. Looking for good hotels. Suggestions?

Restaurant-Café-Pension Himmel. This may not be what you are looking for, but they have a good cafe breakfast, daily specials and are in a good location. We have stayed here with friends the evening before taking them to the Munich airport the following morning.

Thanks for the tip. We tried to book a room there already (nine months in advance), and they are entirely booked the time we will be there, but we will definitely try to eat there.

I only add these as we have stayed at them over the years. The current state i don't know nor can I necessarily recommend them. They are farther out and we used the local bus to get to and from the old city.

Hotel Schönbrunn. We stayed here overnight and had an Advent holiday brunch in the morning.
Hotel Lifestyle Landshut. Apparently they are closed for renovation. We had bid on and won vouchers for our stay here.
Maybe a holiday apartment/Ferienwohnungen?

We used to very much enjoy going to Landshut for the Weihnachtsmarkt when it used to be at the St. Jodok Park. We haven't been back to it since it was moved to the Festplatz. Also had the worst Sauerbraten in my life there at a restaurant I don't think exists any longer. The Heilig-Geist-Stüberl Gaststätte has good Schnitzel. Had a good cheese Risotto at L'Osteria Landshut Altstadt.

We have stayed at the Cafe Himmel and the Hotel Cristallo in Landshut.

The Cafe Himmel would have been our first choice as well. Sometimes we have had hotels in Germany be unwilling to commit to a booking too far in advance as they are unwilling to commit to a price. You might check back with the Himmel later. Booking sites can tie up rooms: have you checked your dates on Booking.Com or Hotel Reservation Service.

The Hotel Cristallo was a moderately good hotel with large rooms and a decent breakfast. That was years ago.

The town center of Landshut is a good walk from the train station, Cristallo was closer to the train station.
