We have a lovely hotel room booked in Lindau on the promenade overlooking the harbor for 2 nights the first weekend in September. However we are rethinking where we want to stay on the Bodensee. Anyone know how crazy it is getting on and off the island? Will we be able to find parking? We were thinking of Meersburg but the hotel we wanted to stay in was booked. Any thoughts appreciated. thanks!

I've been to Lindau many times, but I always came in on the trains. It was easy.
A room in a hotel on the harbor would be very romantic.
As well as the train, there is a bridge for cars onto the island, but I don't know about the parking.

There is a very large parking lot near the Hauptbahnhof. Driving on and off the island is a non-issue.
