Would love input on places to stay in Leipzig! RS has a suggestion thar looks good, but hoping to find one that is less expensive? Would like to stay for less than 70 Euro/night, if possible.
I don't know when you are going, but it looks like Motel One has rates down to 69 euro/night and has 2 locations in Leipzig. If you don't know Motel One, it's a German chain that offers small, clean, inexpensive rooms (with a little bit of a burst of design). Breakfast is a decent buffet spread but costs extra.
No recommendation, but you could check Trivago.de
Booking.com covers a wide price range. Just look at photos and read the reviews.
If you use an aggregator like Trivago or Booking.com, I would recommend using the aggregator to find the hotel/B&B you like, and then going to the hotel's website to book the room direct with the hotel.
Hi,
I agree on Motel One, conveniently located at train stations or S-Bahn stations.
Also, I recommend Hotel Weißes Roß on Auguste-Schmidt Straße 20 and this one: Am Nordplatz at Nordstraße 58 . True , 70 Euro a night for single means it is a 3 star hotel.
The A&O just across the street from Leipzig Hauptbahnhof is also worth a look. I slept there once, and found it an agreeable place.
We stayed in a hostel, 2 blks from the HBH. Central Globetrotter. It was fine. 41 EUR night, for a private room, bathroom down the hall. The breakfast was OK. Leipzig was a very nice spot. Make sure to go to the Thomaskirche (Bach) and the Memorial to the Battle of All Nations.
