Left luggage at Munich airport may be retrieved by someone else?

Hello, first the background. My wife and I are doing a bike tourstarting from Munich. My wife will be renting a bike. I plan to bring my bike but as my wife is flying directly from home (SFO) to Munich and I am not I would like my wife to take my bike, it will be in a box. But my wife arrives a day before me and she won't be in a position to take the bike (and box) from the airport to our hotel. So is it possible she leaves the bike (in the box) in left luggage and I pick it up the next day? She won't be able get the receipt to me but it is conceivable she could scan it.

Or if my wife took a taxi to the hotel, could be bike and box fit in a taxi trunk? The box is 13"x30"x52".

Nobody anwered so far. I will make a try of two thinkable options.

1) If your wife get the bike from bulky baggage on a waggon it could be loaded in a 7-seater (e.g. VW or Mercedes van) taxi at MUC airport. If you pre-ask hotel to store the bike in her hotel room or the general locker room it shall be possible that some people may help her.

2) Pre-send bike by as bulky goods (Sperrgut, e.g. DHL) to the pre-informed hotel. Issue can be the customs handling. If German customs ("Zoll") rate that as traded / imported good to pay VAT (not knowing it is your own good) you have the issue to pick it up there. So, some verification needed with hotel and German Zoll.

I would not leave it unpicked from flight at the airport. This may cause a lot of issues.

So, no ready solution but a thought.
