Layover in Dusseldorf - Hotel?

We are flying via Dusseldorf to Milan in May on Air Berlin. Originally the layover in Dusseldorf was scheduled for 2 hours; they have now changed it to 7. Can anyone recommend a hotel near the airport where we can crash or a few hours? We arrive at the airport around 7 AM and leave again around 2 PM.

A modest proposal might be go into Duesseldorf for the morning, rather than hole up in a hotel room. There are S-Bahns from Terminal C into the center city every 20 minutes and its only a 12 minute journey. Take the U-Bahn from the Hbf to the Altstadt and stroll the traffic free streets, an early lunch, then back to the airport in plenty time to get through security for you flight to Milan. You will only need to stash your carry-ons, either at the airport or at the Hbf.
Feel more adventurous and go to Cologne, which is only 40 minutes away from the main airport train station, which is reached by the sky train system. 2 trains every hour.

I'm flying out of Dusseldorf when we go in May so I've been researching nearby hotels. The Sheraton at the airport offers day use between 8 AM and 6 PM starting at €86. I know it's pricey but it's super convenient if you want to crash and refresh before the next flight.

We stayed at Hotel Indigo in Dusseldorf when we had an early morning flight. Nice place. Near numerous shops and cafes. I recall it as a 20 minute taxi trip from the airport.
