Laundry options in Bavaria?

We will be in smaller towns in Bavaria for about 10 days in December. When we were in the Black Forest in May we had a hard time finding a laundromat. We will need to do a wash at least once so we can pack light.

We will be in Esslingen, Rothenberg, and Dinkelsbuhl during "laundry prime time" in the middle of the trip.

I don't love handing my stuff off to hotel services, would much prefer to do it myself. (And have had several interesting experiences at laundromats in other European countries--definitely a slice of life!) We are staying in small hotels, no chains, so haven't seen a single mention of a hotel self-serve laundry. What would you suggest?

Yelp lists a few locations in Rothenburg if you search Laundry Services. I didn’t check the other towns. But you’ll often find them closer to the train stations, not in the center of town.

Waschsalon is the German term for laundry, so you might try searching for that. If you are traveling by car, you may need to stop along the way to do laundry.

Thank you all, really great info. I'm glad I'm not the only person who likes laundromats! "Waschsalon" as a search term will probably be much better, thanks!

Hi JoAnne- On most trips before Covid, I always used a self-service laundromat in ROTD or Garmisch. Both cities had at least one. The locations were provided by the small hotel we stayed in. After Covid, who knows. But your hotel should provide the location.
