Since train tickets have changed as of January of 2019, as per your information, are Lander tickets still being offered ? I am interested in up to 5 people where one person pays E23 -E24 for first person and 4 to 5 Euros for additional persons. We are traveling as a group of six. Two adults, two youths (ages 14 & 16) and two seniors. If not available, do you have any other recommendations?
Thank you,
It is 25 EUR for the 1st person, an 7 EUR for each additional person up to 5 traveling together. The 14 year old is free if traveling with a maximum of 2 adults, one of which is a parent or grandparent. That would be one 32 EUR Bayern Ticket. The other 3 can travel on an another Bayern Ticket for 39 EUR. Be sure to write the names on the backs of the tickets so you can keep it straight (and the conductor can keep it straight) who is traveling on whose ticket. If the 14 yo is traveling with 3 adults, then he/she gets counted as an adult as well. The 16 year old is considered an adult for ticketing purposes.
It is still a good deal, 6 people traveling to and from Salzburg for 71 EUR, a shade less than 12 EUR per person.
They are sold in stations there but you can also see them on the DB site.
