I was looking at some videos the other day and learned that Lahr, Germany has a Chrysanthemum Festival, dates this year are listed as October 26 through November 10. Is anyone familiar with this event? Trying to understand if it should be a potential day trip or a stay for a night or two. Thanks. Donna

Haven't been to that Fest, but when I read your note here, I remembered a poster on a different forum named Valtor who wrote a trip report several years back with some very positive comments and plenty of other details about his visit to the area:

I've been to it and it's very much the pride and joy of the Lahr. It's a quintessential German festival with displays of flowers and festivities in the centre of town, music, food and craft booths. A day trip is probably enough, but maybe keep an eye out on the calendar, as I think some days have more activities than others. They have a coronation of sorts that goes with it. I am sure if you emailed someone in charge of the festivities you could get more information, as well.
